Kajol, Anushka, Rani in Chennai Express?

For Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express , after much speculation, the actress that landed the coveted role opposite Shah Rukh Khan is Deepika Padukone, but will we see Kajol, Anushka Sharma, and Rani Mukherjee romance SRK too? We hear that is a distinct possibility!
An insider told HT, “The storyline requires three more female actors besides Deepika to play SRK’s girlfriends in special appearances. So besides Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan might be romancing three of his previous leading ladies in Rohit Shetty’s next. They have decided to rope in Kajol, Anushka and Rani, since they have already worked with him in the past. It will help build excitement about the film.” Apparently talks are on with all three actresses.
However, before you get to jumping up and down with excitement this is not confirmed, “It’s unlikely that the makers would comment on it now as everything is being kept under wraps. But if all goes well, Kajol, Rani and Anushka would shoot their part within a couple of months.”
All we can say is YES please! Stay tuned we will be bringing you more about this exciting story!
About the film Rohit Shetty told Screen Weekly, “It’s a hard-core commercial film with a romantic angle. The story is about this man’s travel from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens during the journey. There is a lot of romance keeping Shah Rukh in mind but it will also be a typical Rohit Shetty film with cars blowing and lots of action.”

SRK's Chennai Express lady remains a mystery

                                                                   srk

The Golmaal director Rohit Shetty has recently lost his cool over the rumours of his upcoming movieChennai Express. Rohit is actually furious on Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Asin for spreading rumours of being a part of the film as the leading lady, opposite to Shahrukh Khan.
Talking to a leading daily, Rohit clarified that he hasn't yet signed any actress for Chennai Express. So, there is no question of Kareena, Deepika or Asin, being a part of the movie. Initially, the buzz was rife that Bebo will do the film, but due to her date issues the offer went to Asin. But the latest buzz say that it's Deepika, who has been finalised for the film.
But a livid Rohit confirmed that they would finalise their chosen actress by April. So till then, no Bebo, Asin or Dippy for Rohit and SRK. We hope to see a fresh face opposite to the King Khan.

Deepika to romance Shahrukh in ‘Chennai Express’

Deepika Padukone will be paired opposite Shahrukh Khan in Rohit Shetty’s new project ‘Chennai Express’. "Deepika is part of Chennai Express. She has been finalised," sources close to the project told. Many names like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra were on the table but finally Deepika grabbed the promising project.
Deepika debuted with Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ opposite Shahrukh Khan and the movie was a box-office hit. Her pairing with King Khan was very much liked and once again the duo are paired to ablaze the silver screen. The film will go on floor in September and will release mid next year.
‘Chennai Express’ speaks about a man (Shahrukh) who travels from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what he experienced during the journey forms the story line of the film.
Interesting, Rohit Shetty has done eight films with Ajay Devgn and first time he is working without his best buddy Ajay and has cast Shahrukh and Deepika Padukone together.  His last film, ‘Bol Bachchan’ was a blockbuster. It crossed 100 crores mark.
Hope, Deepika and Shahrukh revives the magic of ‘Om Shanti Om’ again.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' to go on floors soon

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan will start shooting for his ambitious film 'Chennai Express' much before the scheduled date. The film directed by Rohit Shetty was earlier supposed to go on the floors in October-end but will now start from September 27.
A source informs, "SRK has given the dates for the film in September. It is a 20-day schedule, as he wants to be present when his cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders takes on other teams at this year’s Champions League in South Africa. Earlier this year, KKR won the Indian Premier League for the first time making them hot favorites to win the Champions League as well.
Shah Rukh wants to watch some of the final matches and so has decided to be in South Africa during that time. So the film has been rescheduled to September end. A massive set will be constructed at Bandra’s Mehboob Studio from September 1 for the film."

The source further said, "Rohit was also more than happy to accomodate SRK as his sister is getting married on November 11 and he wanted time for the preparations. With the 20-day schedule wrapping up around mid October, Rohit will get time for the preparations." Rohit remained unavailable for comment.

Kajol: 'Working with Shah Rukh Khan in Chennai Express still a rumour'

Kajol has revealed that suggestions she is part of Shah Rukh Khan'sChennai Express are still at "the rumour stage".

The Bollywood star has been tipped to feature alongside Rani Mukherji and Anushka Sharma in the three-heroine project.

"I have no idea as yet. Even I have just heard about it. It is still a rumour. It is in the rumour stage currently," she told Bollywood Reporter Sunny Malik.

Kajol was recently in London to attend the ARTiculate Gala charity event, hosted by Pratham UK.

She also spoke about her special appearance in Student of the Year, saying: "The emphasis is on cameo, literally. By the time you will say cameo, it will be over."

The actress had previously interacted with lead actors Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan when they worked as assistant directors on My Name Is Khan

"The first time I heard that Karan is launching them, I asked them that now you are on the other side of the camera, how it feels like to go from the crew to cast basically," she revealed. "They were both a bit nervous and said it's completely different and really scary.

"I said, now you know what we go through and next time I don't want to hear any nonsense from you guys. No, but they were really wonderful as assistants. I have seen the trailers but have not seen the film much. But whatever I have seen, they will do really well, touch wood, and they look fantastic."

Chennai Express releasing on 2013

Chennai Express

Chennai Express is an upcoming Bollywood action romance film directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. This is the second collaboration between Khan and Padukone after the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om. Principal photography began on the 27th of September 2012

Production

Development

Khan and Shetty had originally planned to team up for a remake of the 1982 film Angoor. After Singham, Shetty had begun writing the script of the film but left it mid-way.[2] Incidentally, he had the script of Chennai Express ready to be narrated to Khan as a back-up due to the difficulty of obtaining the actor's filming dates.[3] Upon being narrated the script, Khan was impressed with the idea of Chennai Express and agreed to star in it. With this development, the remake of Angoor was pushed back.
When Rohit was asked about the story of the film, he said, "It's a hard-core commercial film with a romantic angle. The story is about this man's travel from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens during the journey. There is a lot of romance keeping Shah Rukh in mind but it will also be a typical Rohit Shetty film with cars blowing and lots of action."[4]

Casting and Filming

Khan was the first actor to be approached with the script, and hence the first lead actor to be signed on to the film. Incidentally, Shetty stated that despite the title, Khan would not play the role of a South Indian in the film. The casting of the lead heroine was speculated for a good deal of time. Names such as Kareena Kapoor Asin Thottumkal or Deepika Padukone were rumored by the media.[5] In an interview, a visibly angry Shetty denied all rumours surrounding the leading heroine, stating that the cast would be finalized in April 2012 and that he was going to cast an established actress as the leading lady.[6] However, in August it was officially announced that Deepika Padukone has been signed to play the lead opposite Khan.[7] Principal photography began on the 27th of September 2012.
