The opening ceremony of the sixth edition of the Indian Premiere League was a grand affair. It was held at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
The night was witness to some star performances by Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. Deepika performed on the tracks from her film ‘Cocktail’ while Katrina performed on her hit numbers, ‘Chikni Chameli’ and ‘Mashallah’. Individually, the two were sizzling in their acts. Katrina was seen in a lehenga choli whereas Deepika stepped out in a metal corset and leather pants.
What can be noted is the relationship these 2 actresses share with each other. It is not unknown that both these actresses have been linked to Ranbir Kapoor at some time. It is no secret that the two do not share great vibes. Deepika Padukone was said to be in a serious relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, however it did not work out. And currently, he is said to be in a relationship with Katrina Kaif, which is going through some stress too. Deepika and Ranbir were in a relationship for 2 years before reports of him cheating on her came in. Ranbir and Katrina met on the sets of ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ and apparently hit it off instantly.
After Shah Rukh Khan performed on ‘Ladki Badi Anjaan Hai’ and ‘Chammak Challo’, he got on the stage with Deepika and Katrina. It was entirely on him to keep these two beauties away from each other. Everyone present also made sure that these two ladies did not bump into each other.
All through the evening, the two kept to themselves but when Shah Rukh Khan got them on stage, he played the perfect host. He made them feel absolutely comfortable. While rehearsing, he did the dance steps separately with them. He did not want the situation to become uncomfortable; hence he avoided any clashes between the two.
After the event, Deepika Padukone was seen giving media bytes with Shah Rukh Khan whereas Katrina Kaif preferred to be by herself.
Shah Rukh Khan is known to make his ladies feel special, and so he even chartered separate flights for them to reach the destination. Deepika was shooting for ‘Ram Leela’ and hence reached the venue late in the evening. It is known that Deepika Padukone made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Om Shaani Om’ whereas Katrina Kaif starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan in their last outing, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
